Breathwork

What is it?

Breathwork (or in yogic speak ‘Pranayama’) is a simple, powerful meditative breathing pattern that once you learn it, is always available…one breath at a time.

This particular Pranayama technique is a two phase breath practiced while lying down and in a relaxed position. It’s that simple.

With any meditation the aim is to still the mind and relax the body. In this state we are allowed full access to our limitless potential and bring our dreams into fruition.

Show up in your yoga clothes, a suit and tie or a prom dress — whatever makes you feel comfortable.

All ages welcome.

No experience necessary.

How does it work?

Simply focusing on your breath pattern can open world of possibilities. Western culture, as we know it is ruled by the clock and also known for shallow breathing. This in turn can disrupt so many internal, mental and physical processes we take for granted. Leaving us feeling sick and tired. Of life and of ourselves.

Gifting yourself the time to relax into your body and breathe allows internal space to feel all that you have been busy to feel. The breathwork also oxygenates the blood, which can leave you feeling recharged, relaxed and restored. Meditation has been shown to help create healthy new neurological pathways in the brain, unstick deeply embedded patterns and in turn make new life choices.

Still in doubt?

At the very least Breathwork can be a calming relaxation technique. It is tool that can be used daily to reduce stress, worry and anxiety.

As with any form of meditation or yoga, the benefits are cumulative. The more you practice, the more you benefit.
